Every Spring, Camp Leo for Children with Diabetes hosts their annual Leadership In Training event for high-school aged youth with diabetes.  This training will give teens the opportunity to hone their leadership skills, learn about themselves, their leadership style, and how they work together in groups.  From this training, designated Camp Leo staff members will select a group of these youth to fill the role as "Leaders in Training" this summer at Camp Leo.
The leadership training weekend will take place April 30th through May 2nd at Panhandle Lake 4H camp near Shelton, Washington.  Curriculum includes the following leadership sessions: team building through initiatives course exercises, healthy living as a teen with diabetes, self assessment, and learning to recognize and understand the need for personal, emotional, and physical safety.
