Swimming
Splish-splash! A daily dip in the pool is one of the most popular activities at camp and a great cool-down from the hot summer sun. All water activities are supervised by registered life guards and medical staff.
Rock Wall
Campers challenge themselves to reach new heights and improve their stamina, endurance, and problem-solving skills on our indoor rock wall. Trained staff teach the necessary safety techniques and offer encouragement.
Hiking
Nestled in the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, camp is surrounded by some of the most spectacular hiking trails in the nation. Campers of all skill levels develop a deep appreciation for the breathtaking beauty of Washington's streams, rivers, and woods.
Archery
Take aim and develop concentration and focus at our archery range. Campers are trained by ACA-certified archery instructors on proper technique, and get to have fun learning a new skill!
Field Games
Campers get active together playing traditional field games like Fire in the Forest, Capture the Flag, and Night at the Museum and specially developed Camp Leo games like giant checkers, jenga, and battleship!
Mountain Biking
Camp Leo is surrounded by world-class mountain biking trails. This optional activity takes participants on a tour around the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie Forest trails and teaches foundational mountain biking techniques.
Arts & Crafts
Camp Leo's arts and crafts room contains all the supplies needed for our budding artists. Campers enjoy painting, drawing, beading, wood crafts, and more!
Campfire
Our nightly campfire is a time where the whole camp comes together to sing, perform, laugh, and celebrate the accomplishments of another busy day at camp.
Game Room
Campers love having down time in the game room to shoot pool, play a round of air hockey or fuse ball, and challenge their friends to board games.
Teamwork Challenge
Our teamwork challenges require a combination of creativity, physical involvement, teamwork skills, communication, awareness, conflict resolution and individual commitment to succeed. The course offers a atmosphere of trust and cooperation, resulting in more effective teams and increased leadership abilities.
Guest Speakers
Camp Leo is fortunate to have hosted many inspiring guest speakers. From Super Bowl winners, to Iron Man athletes, to the creator of the first closed-loop artificial pancreas, our guest speakers are living proof that people with diabetes don't let anything stand in the way of their success.
Group Discussion
Our campers know one of the best things about camp is being surrounded by people who share your experiences living with diabetes. At camp we have both structured discussion sessions and down time to give campers the chance to share with others who truly "get it."
Diabetes Education
Diabetes education happens both formally and informally at camp. We believe the greatest education comes from "teachable moments" throughout the day and the learning that happens when sharing ones experiences of living with diabetes. In addition, the daily schedule includes a structured “DiabEducation Activity” that is designed for the learning needs of each age group. Activities range from experiential education, to diabetes BINGO, to fun art projects to help campers learn and practice good diabetes management skills.
